Ray Barton Racing Engines, a major supplier of COPO Camaro engines in Stock and Super Stock, is adding thousands of dollars to the winner’s purse for the 50th Anniversary COPO Camaro Shootout, held exclusively at Summit Motorsports Park during the NMCA All-American Nationals over the weekend of August 22-25, 2019.

The high-acclaimed engine builder from Pennsylvania is swelling the purse to $5,000 thanks to a $2,000 contribution to the COPO Camaro Shootout. Ray Barton Racing Engines is also kicking in a $1,000 bonus to the RBRE customer that goes the furthest into eliminations with one of their powerplants! The addition money that is up for grabs further increases the prestige of the race category and celebration during the NMCA national event.

The COPO Camaro Shootout starts on Thursday, August 22, as competitors roll into Summit Motorsports Park and are parked in pre-reserved, up-front paved pits. Racers will be treated to a Test & Tune followed by a Racer Appreciation Happy Hour & Ice Cream Social featuring Norwalk’s iconic 1 lb. scoops of ice cream! Friday features a day of drag race qualifying with a COPO Camaro Shootout luncheon, presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center, followed by an end of day Happy Hour and free parts raffle with upwards of $10,0000 in product up for grabs exclusively to COPO owners. On Saturday, August 24th, things heat up as COPO Camaro Shootout eliminations begin with another lunch break presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center. Late Saturday, the winner of the COPO Camaro Shootout will receive a $5,000 check, an NMCA Victor award, and will be treated to a champagne celebration in the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle.

The NMCA All-American Nationals has become one of the biggest events on the NMCA schedule due to the impressive and customer service driven Summit Motorsports Park (Norwalk, OH) facility. In addition to the special 50th Anniversary COPO Camaro Shootout there are special street car categories like the Chevrolet Performance Street Car Challenge, LME Street King and ProForm LSX Rumble, and many other categories that include the NMCA championship drag racing series.
