As the Radial world prepares for Lights Out 10 the biggest news coming from the X275 ranks are the Bruder Brothers and their new combination. They are going back to their roots with a return to ProCharger as their power adder of choice! That is right, after crushing the record with a 4.29 run from a wild Roots-blown combination, the New Jersey based team will ditch the big blower for a centrifugal unit from ProCharger.
The engine combination remains the same—a DiSomma Racing Engine that is based on a billet engine block and topped off with a set of Edelbrock SC1 cylinder heads, Visner intake manifold, and a Fuel Tech FT600 engine management system. The car has been a best of 4.297 at 171 mph with the Chuck Ford 8-71 Roots supercharger, before the X275 rules added 200 pounds to the combination.
The Bruder’s have always been savvy at navigating the rule book to find an advantage over the competition. First it was with a ProCharger F-1X before the hammer came down on it. They then converted to an 80mm turbocharged setup and were successful before the weight was added to that combo. Two years ago they shocked the world two years ago with the Roots-blown engine and became the first X275 ride in the 4.20s.
The combination is also legal for NMRA and NMCA Street Outlaw, which they are rumored to be gearing up for a championship run after winning the NMCA title last year with customer Fletcher Cox and his driver Shawn Ayers.
Catch the Bruder Brothers this week at South Georgia Motorsports Park where they will compete in Lights Out 10.
