Breaking News—New Cadillac ATS-V Slated for Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings

The Cadillac V-series line of cars are inspired by top-of-the-line, race-ready cars and designed to bring high-performance to the streets. In the case of a Cadillac ATS-V that is currently under construction at a noted chassis shop (concept drawing shown above), the V-series meaning will carry a whole-new level of performance.

Slated for Discover Channel’s Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings TV show and big money No Prep competitions throughout the Midwest, the owner prefers to remain anonymous at this moment. He was only willing to reveal the rendering, but showed us proof that the car is almost race-ready as the shop completes the chassis and prepares to install the powerplant. He expects to be on track by the second or third stop on the No Prep Kings tour.

The chassis that sits under the nearly-stock body is typical fare for a car of this caliber. It is a full tube-chassis with double frame rails for rigidity. The ATS-V carries a factory wheelbase of 109.3-inches, which is longer than most popular body styles, offering exceptional stability.

Not building a Mustang or first-generation Camaro does have its drawbacks as there aren’t many lightweight body components readily-available. The factory does supply the ATS-V with a carbon fiber hood from the factory, which—on this No Prep version—will be the only lightweight piece on the car. The all-factory body does allow the vehicle to conform 100% to the TV show’s rules without any drama. The only major modifications have been to section the rear quarter panels for the big tires, the addition of a large deck wing for down-force, and a set of composite windows.

The powerplant, without giving away too much information, will be a turbocharged all-billet, big-block engine combination. That is all the owner was willing to reveal and his current race vehicle is proof the combination runs well under the No Prep Kings rules.

Stay tuned to Race Pages Digital as we will keep you up-to-date as more information is revealed on this exciting and unique Big Tire build.
