The cash keeps flowing and racers continue collecting the Nitto Tire NT555RII prize money as Nitto Tire paid out to both a Chevrolet Performance Street Car Challenge winner and a HEMI Shootout winner at the Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing presented by HPJ Performance held at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway during the first week of August 2020.
Nitto Tire started this program as part of its marketing strategy for its newly revamped NT555RII drag radial tire, and racers vying for the big $1,000 payouts Nitto is offering for winning with the new tire at NMRA and NMCA races.
During the Super Bowl, Greg Carlos of Clark, Missouri, drove his very shiny, 2016 Corvette Stingray to a three-run average of 12.091 seconds for the 12-second win in the Chevrolet Performance Street Car Challenge using a pair of Nitto NT555RII drag radials to collect the award and the Nitto cash prize.
The second winner of the Nitto Tire prize money was Alan Scanlan of Spring, Texas. Scanlan was one of the first Nitto Bounty winners in Commerce, and he brought his 2019 Dodge Challenger 1320 to St. Louis for the next NMRA/NMCA event at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. There, he entered the Dodge // MOPAR HEMI Shootout and drove to a 13.028-second three-run average for the 13-second win and the Nitto prize money.
The Nitto Tire NT555RII bounty is available at the remainder of NMRA and NMCA events, with the next event, the NMRA/NMCA All-American Nationals coming up in a few weeks at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan. True Street, HEMI Shootout, and Street Car Challenge winners are all eligible to collect the cash at that event, as well as the NMCA season finals in Browsnburg, Indiana, and NMRA finals and Bowling Green, Kentucky.
