QA1 teased the public for the last few weeks with the impending launch of their MOD Series shocks and they finally came clean with photos and specs. The group has applied for several patents on the MOD Series and the shocks could be used for drag racing and handling/pro-touring cars. Since no two cars are the same and racing conditions change rapidly, the MOD Series shocks can be re-valved in a matter of minutes with the shocks remaining on the vehicle, saving time and money.
The QuickTune technology is a modular valve pack that allows this quick re-valving process to happen. It offers 24-clicks for each the compression and rebound adjustments and has a low-speed bleed. The large solid piston, with blow-off valve, to improve driver feel and control with up to 1,600 pounds of force. The engineers have also installed high speed valving adjustment to help the shock operate during impact events like hitting a pothole or or curb. The low speed valving allows the user to adjust the ride quality and weight transfer on corner entry/exit—more bleed provides a softer feel while less bleed gives it a stiffer effect. Because no two cars are built the same, the MOD Series has eyelets that can be indexed for multiple mounting positions to optimize knob access. The canisters can be run as either a piggyback on the shock or remote location for ease of mounting. QA1 includes thrust bearings and like all their products, it is Made in the USA.
