The competition in the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow area is heating up as talented teams of young engine builders are competing to win the first-ever Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge championship title.
The first half of the championship competition was run at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the top four teams from that portion of the event have arrived in Indianapolis, Indiana, to finish things out at the PRI Show. Today, 18 teams are going head-to-head to determine who the top four will be from this portion of the championship.
Together, those “Elite 8” will run playoff-style PRI vs SEMA to determine the ultimate championship starting at 1:00pm on Friday, December 8th.
Winners will receive not only some fabulous trophies, but also some great prize including scholarship money from SamTech, UTI, and the Ohio Technical Center.
Also new for 2017 is the Junior Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Experience, which is designed to give kids ages 5-15 hands-on wrenching experience. Tearing down and re-assembling a 5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, participants learn about tools, ratchets, torque wrenches, feeler gauges, and more.
