PRI Show: Shane Novak’s Sick New ProCharged Pro Mod Camaro

The hot news at the 2017 PRI trade show today is Iowa-based racer Shane Novak’s killer new ProCharged Pro Mod ‘69 Camaro. The gorgeous grey beast is sitting pretty in ProCharger’s booth and it’s attracting a whole lot of attention.

Finished up only a matter of days ago, the build was spearheaded by Brandon Hess of BrandoSpeed. The shop took care of most of the fabrication as well as completely rebuilding the front end of the originally Larry Jeffers Race Cars-built chassis, while a fresh Tim McAmis/Velocity body sprayed by Tyler Chekal and airbrushed by Underground Art Studio brings it all together.

Pro Line Racing supplied the 548 ci Hemi engine, and ProCharger’s crowning glory, a humongous F-3X-143 supercharger sits up front and massively ramps up the intimidation factor.

Together, the combination puts out roughly 3,500 horsepower through the BrandoSpeed-fabricated zoomies.

Running on alcohol, the Camaro’s fuel is supplied via of a set of Billet Atomizer injectors.

Controlling it all is a state-of-the-art FuelTech FT600 EFI system, with expert wiring by Novak Electric.

A Rossler Turbo 400 transmission that’s been rebuilt by M&M Transmission and Browell bell housing with Precision Performance Products shifter will allow Novak clean, consistent shifts.

Out back, a Mark Williams rear end sits perfectly between the monster Eagle slicks.

Lamb Struts up front and Penske shocks in the rear can be found gracing the corners of Novak’s Pro Mod, while Lamb Components will help slow the monster back down after it tears up the track.

A set of Stroud parachutes will aid the brakes, while a RaceTech seat will keep Novak safe in case anything goes awry.

Although the car was built with the intention of going Pro Mod racing, the guys are planning to take a few detours every now and then. Expect to see Novak and the Camaro on a set of radial tires running in Radial vs the World at Donald “Duck” Long’s “Lights Out 9” race in February, 2018 at South Georgia Motorsports Park. After that, though, the focus will switch back to the big stickies and the NMCA VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod season for 2018.

If you’re attending the PRI show this year, stop by ProCharger at booth (#101) in the green hall to take a look at Novak’s Camaro and all the great products on display.
