Most of the country is deep into the off-season and relaxing during the holiday break, however, halfway across the world the Middle East is preparing for its racing season. Last year the action was fast-paced, particularly with the Al Anabi Performance teams, and the Pro Nitrous record was crushed a few times. The Qatar Racing Club presented stellar track conditions and favorable weather as Musi lowered her teammate’s record from a 3.668 down to a 3.663. See the video above of the record-setting performance.

The 2016/2017 racing adventure saw the second generation racer and her crew chief/dad Pat Musi ship their Frank Brandao-owned King Kong 6 Dodge Dart overseas to compete in the winter series. The car was constructed by Jerry Bickel Race Cars and is powered by a 965ci powerplant, which was designed and built in-house at Musi Racing Engines. The massive engine package sports five stages of nitrous while an Edelbrock EFI system controls all of it. Musi would eventually lower her record down to 3.631 during a match-race at Maryland International Raceway in May 2017. The record still stands today, but with multiple teams across the Middle East preparing for several races across many circuits, the record could easily be eclipsed during the opening days of 2018.
Below is Musi’s record-setting run in Maryland seven months ago in a match against Melanie Salemi and her supercharged Pro Modified.
