Several years ago Race Star Wheels burst on to the late-model muscle car market with fresh designs for Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, and many other vehicles. Since that time thousands of enthusiasts have enhanced the look and performance of their vehicle with nearly a dozen different wheel designs from Race Star Wheels’ catalog. As NMRA competitors race to championships on Race Star Wheels, so will a new market for the Kansas City-based wheel manufacturer. This past summer the company was proud to introduce the Pro Forged line of racing wheels.
Race Star Wheels pulled the wraps off its Pro Forged wheels during the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway and it has grabbed the attention of the market. Here is a bit more information on the new player in the racing wheel game.
The Pro Forged 15×3.5-inch front-runners are available in both a spindle-mount and bolt-on arrangement. The company had 16×16 wheels on-hand at the event and they are designed for use in Pro Stock and Pro Modified applications—either with double beadlock rings or in a liner configuration.
Both the front and back wheels are lighter than any other wheel on the market and noted professional chassis builders have taken notice of that fact. LB Davis from Race Star Wheels said that they aren’t revealing the actual numbers—yet—but he said racers should expect them to be 20-30-percent lighter. Davis has also forged a new partnership with a very prominent championship winning NHRA Pro Stock team. Jason Line was recently seen at the US Nationals with a pre-production set of Pro Forged wheels on his Summit Racing Equipment Chevrolet Camaro.
The Pro Forged wheels will be available January 2019 and Davis told RPD that the company would have other sizes available like the popular 15×10, 15×12, 15×14, and 15×15 rear wheels in beadlock (single and double) and non-beadlock configuration.
